Living in Cheltenham
Cheltenham was first developed as a pleasure health resort for the wealthy in the 18th and 19th century, leaving behind it a rich legacy of Regency architecture. Magnificent town houses, with intricate ironwork balconies and painted stucco facades, line the historic leafy Promenade, squares and terraces.
More recently, Cheltenham has become known for its superb schooling having both state schools and public schools with excellent educational records. Of particular note Cheltenham Ladies College, Cheltenham College and Dean Close draw a wide audience from both international and domestic families. Many of whom look to buy a property within close proximity.
Cheltenham has also grown to be a cultural centre for festivals, with annual Music, Literature and Science festivals within the arts and the famous Cheltenham Festival at the home of National Hunt racing at Prestbury Park.
